A Case of Paralytic Ileus due to Hypopotassemia

Abstract
A case of paralytic ileus due to potassium deficit was presenter. Potassium deficit have become re
cognized as a clinical importance in surgical patient especially postoperative state.
It is generally agreed that potassium has a definite effect upon conduction and contractibility of cardiac,
striated, and viceral smooth muscles and produce typical E.K.G. findings and few symptoms such as
extreme weakness, motor and sensory disturbances, muscular weakness and paralytic ileus. So it¢¥s pro
mpt recognition and treatment by the surgeon are of paramount importance to the successful completion
of many surgical procedures.
